Misamis Occidental
Misamis Occidental is an off-the-beaten-path destination in the Philippines. Misamis Occidental has all you need for a life-long adventure and tour, from gushing waterfalls to towering peaks, charming mossy forests, secret lakes, and cultural and historical monuments. It's definitely more fun here!
You don't have to go far to experience the best of both worlds. The exhilarating views of the mountains and the wide selection of beaches plus the warmth of our people are within your reach.
The original inhabitants of the province were the Subanen tribe. Later, people from the Visayas region arrived and settled in the coastal areas. The place was constantly attacked by Moro pirates even during the Spanish regime.
In 1756, the Spaniards built a fort called “Fuerte de la Concepción y del Triunfo” to serve as protection from these pirates. In 1818, the area covered by the present province was part of the political-military district called Segundo Distrito de Misamis, the largest of five such districts in Mindanao. On November 2, 1929,
Misamis province was divided into Occidental and Oriental by virtue of Act No. 3537. Don Fortich Ozamiz became the first governor of Misamis Occidental.
About
Making this project is about to show my skills in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap and Github. I'll
be graduating from my fullstack developer bootcamp from Kodego. I know that
being a developer requires one to be a life-long learner, and although I've yet to
finish my college degree, I'm still motivated more than ever to propel my career
despite that.
